Training on WASH Progress Monitoring in Bangladesh

A day-long training on WASH Progress Monitoring was held on May 28, 2024, at the Balasi Conference Hall of SKS Inn, Gaibandha. Organized by SKS Foundation under the Rising for Rights project, the training aimed to develop leadership among local citizens and tribes. The event was inaugurated by Ershad Uddin, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate of Gaibandha Municipality. He emphasized the importance of local tribes' involvement in monitoring and improving the city's sanitation system, highlighting that citizens have the right to demand quality services. The training focused on the need for community-based participatory monitoring and formal accountability in development programs. The closing ceremony was attended by Gaibandha Municipality Panel Mayor Shahid Ahmed and Executive Engineer Rejaul Haque, who stressed the importance of citizen participation in receiving services.
