Sajha Bahas-An interactive program between rights holders and duty bearers

FEDWASUN, FANSA Nepal implementing partner, organized the Sajha Bahas, an interactive program between rights holders and duty bearers, in Pokhara Metropolitan City on 1 September 2024. The discussion focused on WASH policy and program access for marginalized and vulnerable communities. Over 30 participants, including representatives from informal settlement networks, sanitation networks, the LGBTIQ+ community, and water sanitation user committees, voiced their concerns about the need for inclusive and accessible safe water and sanitation services. They also demanded their fundamental right to participate in the municipality’s decision-making process to ensure their voices are heard. In response, the Mayor of Pokhara Municipality, Mr. Dhan Raj Acharya, acknowledged their concerns and committed to providing accessible WASH services by developing a separate WASH guideline and ensuring their active representation in the decision-making proces
