On November 19th, 2024, the national-level seminar on sanitation brought together over 100 professionals and experts to foster knowledge exchange, spark innovative ideas and encourage collective action towards ensuring sustainable access to sanitation for all at Hotel Hilton in Kathmandu Nepal
FANSA Nepal actively participated by hosting a vibrant stall featuring Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials and compelling case story videos showcasing the experiences of sanitation workers and the LGBTIQA+ community. The videos, centered around Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) and Faecal Sludge Management (FSM), amplified voices from the field to advocate for inclusive and equitable sanitation practices at the national level seminar.
Key topics covered in the video presentations included the rights of marginalized groups in WASH, the critical role of Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTPs) and their access to marginalized communities, and the importance of inclusive sanitation in policymaking. These stories spotlighted overlooked community sanitation and hygiene challenges, inspiring meaningful dialogue and action.
